“What’s the best way to motivate listless, uninterested students? Simply turn them into teachers!” Skinner,J.(1994)

Negotiated Project Proposal

Overview
Develop an online art community and portfolio site, a creative space that provides art marketing tools and serves as a hub for self promotion for us as artists. Easy-to-use tools to allow artists to create a web presence for their art within minutes, allowing us to connect with other artists and art lovers world-wide, a really engaged community forum, opportunities to learn (or teach!) new skills from art techniques to marketing via social media. My goal is pretty simple, to help promote artists, through a new and unique online website.

How will it work?
1. You upload your art, and browse others.
2. Vote for the art you like.
3. If people vote for your art, you gain “karma” which builds your reputation as an artist in the community.
4. Every Friday two most popular artists will have an art “clash” to decide the week’s most popular artist.

What can it be used for?
• Show your art to the world.
• Enhance your art.
• Promote your art.
• Inspiration.

What is an Art “Clash”?
Every Friday two of the weeks most popular artists will be given a word chosen at random from the dictionary, which they have 24 hours to design/create art in relation to the chosen word, others will vote to decide the winner. No behind-the-scenes judges, no politics, no guest votes or image ratings to artificially influence the results. Just fellow artists voting on the art they feel they like best and that fit the theme.

Using Arduino software and tools I plan to use microphones and light sensors to record the activity in a building site. Then process the data to build a pixel animation, changing the colour and size of the pixels and stream it online.

To record the development and progression take a screenshot every hour, then make a timelapse video.
